How do i setup an xy Pad

I am trying to use an xy pad to conrol two differen things in ableton. I cant get it to actually output any messages and i get an error:TypeError: midi_message() takes from 2 to 4 positional arguments but 5 were given. I am really bad with coding so i would apreciatte if anyone ould help me
