I currently host the OSC server on a powerful PC and then use an old microPC to display a panel remotely.
It works generally very well but recently windows updates are “frustrating” the microPC in terms of storage space etc
I was wondering if anyone has had any success in using ChromeOS Flex as thinking about using this on my microPC.
In my head it’s logical as should work as it’s just going to be used to run a chrome browser…
No one brave enough?!
Might just see if I can boot from a usb memory stick and see if it works
Yep, the best option is to try it ! I'd recommend a proper linux distribution over chrome os though.
Mmm, food for thought - don’t really know Linux though - can see that to be another dark black hole of learning I’d disappear down…
Indeed... To be honest I still think the best option is to run the server on the computer that runs the softwares to be controlled (but I have no solution regarding windows updates...).
Yes I do this. But I have this little microPC that runs a touch screen in a separate location that I run the chrome browser that accesses the servers ip address to display the panel.
Oh if it's only used for running the browser then any OS should do !
