Would using pictures slow down O-S-C?

I’m thinking about loading a picture of a sound’s waveform and put it under a slider to help controlling a play head but I’m wondering if this could slow down the software. Has anyone built a session with such a configuration already?

I don’t see how this would slow down the app, you should try it :).

Uhhh this is a great idea and I need to do something similar! let me know if you have any success, gl and I’ll post if I get to it first

In case you’re under windows and want to use images located on the server’s drive, there’s is a bug related to this: https://github.com/jean-emmanuel/open-stage-control/issues/515 [edit: fixed in v0.45.5]

any chance of seeing how you got this working?

Sorry, I had no time to try this out. My idea was to use stylized sonograms of all my sounds but it would require a lot of time to create the pictures, edit them and program O-S-C.

Aah that’s a shame. It sounds like a great idea!
